I am running Plex Web version 4.57.4 on a Synology DS916+ with DSM 7.
I want 2 libraries to be set up - Music and Photos. I set up Music and it works perfectly but when I try to set up my Photos library it fails to do so. I have it pointed at the folder on my DS916 which contains the 150,000 images but Plex says “Photos” is empty. My images are in a Shared Folder folder called photo and with a sub-folder /archived photos so the Add Folder is volume1/photo/archived photos. But when I click Add Folder it says “Photos” is empty. I have deleted the folder and recreated it but always get the same result.
I checked the Permissions on the photos folder my DS916 and plex has Read Only permission. I tried with Read/Write but same result. Advanced Permissions are not checked. I’ve read the post:

but even though I followed the “what you need to do” I get the same message. Can anyone see what I’m doing wrong please?

Like any big firmware update on your photo, computer or console, upgrading the firmware on your Synology NAS from DSM 6.2 to DSM 7.0 can be slightly unnerving, as it can often lead to some applications no longer functioning the same or (very much in the case of switching from Photo Station and Moments to Synology Photos) the collections of. Photo Station is a web service and application served by a Synology NAS. All files exist on the NAS in a folder hierarchy and are indexed by the Synology disk management software automatically. The web app can be made available to the Internet by enabling the Synology QuickConnect service or by using a DNS service to redirect to your NAS. Once your NAS is up and running, it’s time to check out Synology Moments, which will be the software side of the Google Photos replacement. The tool is effectively like hosting your own photo library server at home, delivering many of the same features, but without a dependence on a cloud service. To connect to your Synology NAS with PhotoSync using WebDAV, open the PhotoSync settings, choose Configure WebDAV and create a WebDAV connection with the following configuration values. Off for WebDAV, On for secure WebDAV. For secure WebDAV use WebDAV port 5006. Tap on Done to initiate the connection.
