Subscript, superscript, and stacked subscript/superscript (for isotope)

My keyboard shortcut for subscript is not working. Originally, the shortcut led to Preferences (I use Firefox). I changed the shortcut for that. So now pressing command + ',' does nothing. I have few extensions and none of those are the culprit. Pressing function down with it does nothing as well. Are there any other ideas? Image: wallstreetmojo.com 1) Put your cursor in any cell and navigate to InsertSymbol. 2) In the pop-up window, either navigate to the '2' subscript, or type "2082" in the "Character code" field so that it navigates to the "2" subscript for you. You can do this through the Font dialog box, but there is a much faster way. For superscript, simply press Ctrl + Shift + + (press and hold Ctrl and Shift, then press +). For subscript, press CTRL + = (press and hold Ctrl, then press =). Pressing the respective shortcut again will get you back to normal text.

The first is a good workaround if you only use symbols, superscript or subscript occasionally. The second is the best choice if you frequently use the same symbols, superscript and subscript (for example, degrees, copyright, squared and cubed). Here are 2 ways you can insert symbols, superscript & subscript in #Gmail Click To Tweet.
