These instructions apply to setting up Arlo Pro 2 or Arlo Pro cameras with Arlo Pro 2 base stations, Arlo Pro base stations, and Arlo base stations. If you sync Arlo Pro 2 or Arlo Pro cameras with an Arlo base station, you can still use the Arlo Pro 2 or Arlo Pro cameras' features, including rechargeable batteries, 2-way audio, AC power use, and advanced motion detection.

Note: Cameras must be synced one at a time.

The Arlo Pro 2 add-on camera is compatible with both Arlo Pro base station and the original Arlo base station 2 way audio: Built in mic and speaker enable push to talk capability, so you can listen in and talk back 7 days of free cloud recordings: Arlo Pro comes with rolling 7 day cloud recordings. The Arlo Pro system aims to bring simple, affordable security features to almost any home. To set up and sync Arlo Pro 2 or Arlo Pro cameras:

  1. Open the battery compartment by pressing the latch and pulling back gently.
  2. Insert the battery as shown and close the battery door.
  3. Bring the camera within one to three feet (30 to 100 centimeters) of the base station.
  4. Sync the camera to the base station:
    • If you are using an Arlo base station, press the Syncbutton on the side of the base station for about two seconds and then release the button.
      Note: If you press the Sync button on the Arlo base station for too long, the LED under the USB symbol blinks amber for 10 minutes. While the USB LED is blinking amber, the sync process is blocked.
    • If you are using an Arlo Pro or Arlo Pro 2 base station, press the button on the top of the base station for about two seconds and then release the button.
  5. Wait for the sync status LED to blink green.
  6. Press the Syncbutton on top of the camera for about two seconds and then release the button.
    A blue LED on the camera blinks rapidly to confirm sync.

    If the LED on the camera blinks amber, the sync is not successful. You must repeat the sync process.
  7. Check the camera LED on the base station.
    If the camera LED on the base station turns solid green, the sync process is complete.
  8. Repeat these steps for each camera.
    Note: If you do not complete the sync process within 60 seconds, press the button on the top of the base station and try again.
