BMW Navigation Map Updates
Update your BMW navigation maps using Map Data & FSC Release Code. We offer a easy and fast USB solution to ensure you get your maps updated as soon as possible. You simply download the files on a 32GB USB stick or order a USB Stick from us and plug it in your car. Detailed instructions are provided, along with any help you may need.Why update your navigation maps?Part of the reason is the fact that roads are always changing. New roads are being built, old roads are being closed or rerouted, two-way streets are being turned into one-way streets. In some areas, up to 40% of the road network can change from one year to the next.The last thing you want your navigation system to do is send you down a street that hasn't existed for five years, or let you spend an hour weaving through an unfamiliar town when there's a shiny new bypass that could cut your journey time in half. Approximately 142,000 miles of new roads are added every year, so updating your maps means your navigation system is going to work a lot better. Earlier map versions can include mistakes (even Google Maps has a few streets that exist in principle, but in reality are just empty fields), and each subsequent map version is going to iron out more of these issues. What's more, over 300,000 points of interest are added to the maps each year, including restaurants, gas stations and attractions. If you're in an unfamiliar area and want to stop off for a bite to eat, having the latest maps on your iDrive will make it easier to use the interactive map to find out what options you have around you.To check the map version in your BMW, go to your iDrive navigation view, open the settings menu and scroll down to Navigation system version. You will see the region, map version and year of your current map. If it's more than a year old, it's time to update.What BMW Car’s can be updated?This will work on all BMW’s worldwide with CIC or NBT Navigation systems (built between 2008 - 2016), based on your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) we will send you the appropriate updated map version and FSC Release code. These maps are compatible with the below BMW models, your car will have either PREMIUM, NEXT, MOVE or MOTION maps which can easily be identified when confirming your map version on idrive (see below)Compatible models: E60, E63, E70, E71, E81, E84, E89, E90, E93, F01, F04, F01, F02, F03, F04, F06, F07, F10, F11, F12, F13, F15, F16, F18, F20, F22, F25, F26, F30, F32, F33, F34, F35, F36, F80, F83, F85, I01, I12 What Maps do you offer?We currently offer the latest 2021 Western Europe and Eastern Europe Maps for download or via post. What is an FSC Code?To update the navigation system in your BMW, you will need a special 20 digit code called the FSC code, the FSC code (registration key) is tied to your vehicle’s VIN number.There are 2 versions available. One Time FSC: This code cost less as you can use it only once. Any future map updates will require the FSC code again. Lifetime FSC: Once you enter a lifetime code in your car, you will never need to enter another code again. Once purchased and used, it will allow you map updates unlimited times. With the Lifetime FSC you would need just the Map Data going forwards and nothing else.Map update won’t stop your BMW warranty as we collect files directly from BMW database, therefore the codes are all the same as a dealership.What are you Buying?Please be aware that you are buying two products the Map data and the FSC Code (with instructions). We will provide a link for you to download the maps to your PC along with the FSC code. You will then need to extract the maps files and copy them to your FAT32 formatted USB stick. Detailed instructions will be provided to make sure you get the right files in your USB. After you have extracted the files and put them on your USB, you then enter the FSC/Activation code and wait for maps to get updated. We also include instructions to update on how to update for iDrive software to the latest version.You do need a 32GB USB stick for the maps (Not included with download option) to be able to update your mapsDo I require any Special Skills to upgrade my car?No, detailed step by step instructions are provided with the maps to help you complete the upgrades. The map data is loaded to a USB stick which can be plugged in to the USB port in your BMW's glove compartment. The system will automatically detect that there is a new map available to install on the iDrive. You may be prompted to enter a BMW-issued FSC activation code with your iDrive controller to begin installation. Everything is done through the USB port, meaning you won't need to use any BMW iDrive coding software. When the process is finished, you'll be good to go.Should I order a USB or ONLINE DOWNLOAD?Online download (approx 20gb) allows you to download the maps directly from a like supplied to you. You need need to transfer the date to a USB for completing the installation. If you have issues with downloading large amounts of data or are not computer savvy, we suggest you order a USB Stick.How to confirm what Maps you currently have installed in your car?What Information do I need to provide after checkout?We just need there last 7 digits of your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) which can is usually found below the front windscreen, engine bay or your cars log book. We also need to know the current version and type of maps you have (see above).
